The political landscape of the state of Punjab, located in the northern part of India, is dynamic and complex, characterized by its vibrant democracy, diverse population, and agricultural prosperity, and a history of socio-political challenges. The state of Punjab is known for its historical and religious characteristics, Punjabi food, music, and dance etc.
The current Chief Minister of Punjab is Bhagwant Mann, who belongs to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Punjab has mostly been dominated by two political parties, the Indian National Congress (INC) party, followed by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) party. In alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the SAD has historically been a major force, drawing support from the Sikh community and championing issues such as Sikh rights and regional autonomy. In recent years, the Aam Aadmi Party has also made inroads in Punjab. In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party formed its government in Punjab by winning 92 out of 117 seats in the 2022 assembly elections.

Punjab has maintained its specialty in the religious field as well. This state is the birthplace of Sikhism. The most sacred and revered temple of Sikhism is also located in this state which is known as the Golden Temple. This temple is popular all over the world which gives Punjab a different identity in India.
