Chandigarh : In a major development in the fireman recruitment scam, Chandigarh Police have arrested three individuals — Deepak, Brijendra, and Naveen — currently working as firemen. During interrogation, the accused confessed to facilitating the illegal recruitment of nearly 60 individuals into the fire department. The scam, which has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the recruitment process, is now under deeper investigation.

The police have swung into action and formally requested the Municipal Corporation to provide all official records related to recent fireman appointments. Authorities suspect a larger network may be involved and have assured that no one found guilty will be spared. According to officials, the arrested individuals played key roles in manipulating the recruitment process, potentially with help from insiders.

To further strengthen the investigation, the police have involved the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL).
