Hyderabad, May 1 (UNI) A day after assigned land grabbing allegations leveled against Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajender, and an inquiry on the issue is presently underway, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday removed the former from his Medical and Health Minister Portfolio.
On the advice of the Chief Minister, Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan approved the transfer of the Medical, Health and Family Welfare Portfolio from Etela to the Chief Minister with immediate effect, a Raj Bhavan communique here said.
Reacting to the removal of his portfolio, Mr Rajender said “ it is a pre-planned conspiracy’ and he will respond only after going through the report submitted by the government.
“I was pained over the allegations leveled against me and during my two decade political career, I have never faced any single corrupt charge. I am a people’s man “, he told reporters.
When asked to respond about removing his portfolio, he said ‘the Chief Minister has the right to take any decision and I am not disappointed on this but pained only due to unnecessary allegations levelled against me with a pre-planned strategy.’ Etela is the second Health Minister to be sacked by the Chief Minister .
In the first term of TRS government, MLA T Rajaiah who served as the Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister was also sacked following allegations of corruption.
