Stalin launches COVID vaccination drive for auto industry workers at Diamler plant
Chennai, May 26 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today launched COVID vaccination drive for automotive industry workers in the 18-44 age group.
Mr Stalin launched the vaccination Centre at Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) manufacturing plant in Oragadam. While DICV has already inoculated almost all employees aged 45 and above, this facility will allow the vaccination drive to be further expanded to the local community, including those under 45 years of age.
With its modern infrastructure including five vaccination booths, the facility can process up to 250 people a day. Operational every week from Monday to Saturday, the Centre also has a refreshments area, a post-vaccination lounge and socially distanced seating capacity for up to 300 people.
The company will continue offering the facility as a vaccination centre for as long as necessary. DICV MD and CEO Satyakam Arya said “accelerating vaccination efforts is critical to safeguard the community. With support from the state government and local partners, this centre has been designed to ensure faster vaccine administration to those 18 years and above.”
