DRDO: 20 kl cryogenic Liquid Oxygen tank to be installed soon at IGMC
Shimla, May 23 (UNI) To match the instant supply of Oxygen at state premier health institution Indra Gandhi Medical College and Hospital a 20 kilo litre Cryogenic liquid Oxygen Tank to be installed soon health officials said on Sunday.
Senior Medical Superintendent of IGMC Dr Janak Raj said that in coordination with the Defence Research and
Development Organisation (DRDO), two pressure swing adsorption (PSA) plants would be established
at IGMC hospital in Shimla. He said that a 20 kilolitre cryogenic tank has also been installed at IGMC Shimla and its trial will be held in a few days.
One each at regional hospital in Una, military hospital in Yol and regional hospital in Solan, would also
be shortlisted for production capacity of liquid Oxygen at 1,000 litres per minute (LPM).
Around around 67 metric tonnes (MT) of oxygen is being produced in Himachal daily, out of which 56 MT is consumed.
