Bahriach, Oct 8(UNI)Samajwadi Party’s National President and former Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav on Friday met the families members of two farmers who were killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence on Sunday last.

Mr Yadav consoled the families and assured them of all possible help and justice. Mr Yadav met the family members of Gurvinder Singh of Raghunathpur Mahurnia and Mr Daljit Singh of Nanpara. He said that the family wants justice and they should be given protection too. After meeting the families of the victims, Mr Yadav said that the public anger has increased due to lack of action by the Uttar Pradesh administration to summon the accused named in the Lakhimpur incident.

“After the Lakhimpur massacre, the way emotional unity has arisen among the farmers in the entire country, especially in Uttar Pradesh, is unprecedented. This government is strangling democracy. BJP flags have come down in villages,” he claimed.

Mr Yadav said that justice will not be done by investigation alone, the Minister of State for Home should also resign.

“Only if the culprits are arrested and they are punished, then only justice will be done. The videos that are coming from the ground are telling the truth. Everyone is saying that the son of the Minister of State for Home was involved in the incident. Samajwadi Party will continue to fight for justice and there is hope for justice after the intervention of the Supreme Court. Even the Supreme Court does not have faith in the attitude of the Uttar Pradesh government,” he added.

Mr Yadav said that the Human Rights Commission has given maximum number of notices in the case of custodial death. Law and order has collapsed in the state. Now only the intervention of the Court is required as people no longer have faith in the BJP government.
