Congress wants Parliament to debate Manipur at all-party meeting. Most opposition parties in the meeting wanted to highlight Manipur and the “attack” on the Constitution’s federal framework.
NEW DELHI: The Congress sought a Manipur discussion during Parliament’s Monsoon Session on Wednesday, saying it takes two hands to clap.
After the all-party meeting, Lok Sabha Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said.
According to several conference leaders, almost all opposition parties wanted to discuss Manipur and the “attack” on the Constitution’s federal framework.
Chowdhury told reporters he presented all issues at the Business Advisory Committee meeting.
“At the all-party meeting, I raised the issues…our demand is that Manipur must be discussed,” Chowdhury remarked.
“Narendra Modi is silent after two months. He requested that he make a statement in Parliament and allow a debate.
“We want to bring an adjournment motion (for discussion) tomorrow as the situation in Manipur is deteriorating,” Chowdhury added.
He stated additional issues including floods, the Balasore railway tragedy, unemployment, price rise, and the federal system being “attacked” should be tackled.
