BSP MP Shyam Singh: ‘Don’t agree with allegations of players against Brij Bhushan’
Jaunpur (UP): Coming to the rescue of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Kaisarganj, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Shyam Singh Yadav on Saturday said that he does not agree with the allegation of the players.
Talking to the reporters, Yadav said, “Media takes the side of the players, but as much as I know Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh I can say that I don’t agree with the allegations of the player. Only a few months are left for Brij Bhushan’s tenure and he himself is talking about an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).”
He said that in such a situation the players should have faith in the CBI inquiry. “Brij Bhushan has been the president for three terms and he cannot remain on the post for the fourth time constitutionally. In such a situation it does not seem appropriate to give a political angle to such allegations,” he said.
The BSP MP put the Union Sports Minister in the dock and claimed that he seems to be indifferent towards the sports and alleged that the level of the sports has dropped due to him. It may be noted that WFI president Brij Bhushan is facing the heat after senior wrestlers leveled serious allegations against him.
On former Congress president and MP Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said that it is not a personal programme of a party and those who are in favour of keeping India united should participate in it. “It should not be linked to a political party, people should rise above the party line and play their role in realising the dream of one India,” he said.
