Pune MC creates awareness on working of G-20 Council ahead of Jan. 16 meeting
Pune: Ahead of forthcoming G-20 Council meeting in the city, Pune Municipal authorities are busy creating awareness among residents. This year India is honored with the Presidency of G20 council, so series of meetings the representatives of G20 member countries will meet in Pune on January 16 and 17.
On the backdrop of G2-0 meet, Pune Municipal Corporation has organized various programs to create awareness amongst students and common people regarding work and procedures of G20 Council, its objectives and structure and others.
In the series of such events, student interactive sessions were organized in three schools and three colleges in Pune today. Pune Municipal Corporation’s Rajiv Gandhi E-Learning School at Sahakar Nagar, Shamrao Kalmadi School, Enrandwane, VIIT School, Kondhwa and MIT College, Kothrud, Modern college, Ganesh khind participated in these interactive sessions. On this occasion, students participated in the Mock G20 conclave as representatives of G20 member countries.
Topics, such as justice and sustainable development, eco-friendly lifestyle, women empowerment, digital world, public infrastructure and technology-enabled development, global food and energy security, climate change, green hydrogen, development cooperation were discussed by students in the interactive session, as well as teachers studying global issues.
Officers from the Education Department, Pune Municipal Corporation and the Police Department also attended and guided this seminar.
