JNTUK to host South zone Inter University Kho-Kho tourney from Monday

Kakinada: JNTUK Vice chancellor Prof GVR Prasadaraju has said that the South zone Interuniversity Kho-Kho tournament would be organized at the university sports stadium here from January 9 to 12.
He told media persons on Saturday that the JNTUK was organizing the tournament with the cooperation of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and inaugurated by Kakinada MP Vanga Geeta Viswanath.
City MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy, Rural MLA Kurasala Kannababu, district Collector Kritika Sukla, SP Ravindranath Babu would be attending as the guests of honour.
Sports Board secretary Dr A. Bhaskar, Kho-Kho association State President TSRK Prasad, General secretary M. Seetharamareddy, Treasurer L. Govindarajulu will attend as the special invitees.
As many as 1200 sportsmen, 300 officials and coaches from 78 Universities spread over to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry will be attending, he added.
University sports council secretary and Tournament organizing secretary Dr G. Syam Kumar said that a tournament organizing committee was formed with the Vice chancellor Prof GVR Prasadaraju as the chairman and Rector KV Ramana, Registrar Prof L Sumalatha, OSD Prof Koteswerarao, University Games and sports administration in-charge Director and Director academic audit Prof Ch Saibabu as the organizing committee members.
