Huge cache of arms, ammunition recovered in Meghalaya

Shillong: A huge cache of ammunition, explosives and a double barrel gun, suspected to be hidden by the erstwhile Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) from forest in Meghalaya’s East Garo Hills district by Meghalaya police.
“The ammunition, explosives and a double barrel gun were suspected to be hidden inside the jungle of Pilgonggre by the slain “commander-in-chief” of GNLA Sohan D. Shira,” Bruno Sangma, the district police chief of East Garo Hills, said.
He said the recovered items included 79 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition, 175 rounds of 7.7 mm ammunition, 10 electrical detonators, one 12 bore double barrel gun and 250 grams of gelatin. (UNI)
