Zelenskyy’s show is over, Europe is shedding ’emotional-yet-futile’ tears!

      After POTUS  Trump’s  (Prez  of the United States)  much awaited  Peace Promises  ended  in a  big fiasco  at  the White House  Oval Office late last week,  where war-battered Ukrainian  President  Volodymyr Zelenskyy  had dropped in a huff and  expected POTUS to press a button and  halt the  three-year old  Russia-Ukraine war,  he returned to his  Mediterranean  Jewish  tribes.   He received  cozy hugs and was offered  warm shoulders   by  European  leaders as  much needed solace to nip his  heartaches.  Though the British  PM  Keir Starmer was the first to promise him $ 2.8 billion financial  support,  the amount was just a pittance  compared to $ 30 billion US Prez  Trump was likely to offer,  apart from  peace deal with Russia. Other members of EU  have also   pitched  in with promises to shell out the  much-needed  funds to buy  arms and ammunition and  high-tech drones to meet  immediate challenge across the eastern fronts.

Ukrainian Prez might have gathered millions of views and the top spot in Trending Charts,  he must ascertain the  fighting skills and long range missiles/drones to match  Russian warfare which Europe may  have,   ready to deploy in the war zones.  NATO  (read Europe),  has depended mostly on the US for hightech warfare, technology,  strategy,  deployment,  manufacturing,   and even in  identifying the NATO   friend or the foe, post WW-II and formation of United Nations.  Except  France and  Germany, most European nations have  very meagre defence spending or technolgy to take on Russia or help Ukraine on the warfront.

Despite  Joe Biden  led American and  indirect NATO support  during the last three years of war, they have not been able to  stop Russia from nibbling large parts of Ukrainian territory. Most parts of Ukraine has been devastated in the war,  its defence manufacturing almost crippled. Ukrainians can only  pride  in themselves:  what they have established:  a comic actor can be a valiant  fighter.   And, without American attacking  power,  the European tears are nothing more than  sympathy without  a sting!  

Vladimir Putin has played his cards very intelligently.  Russian President has withered all the storms calmly and  meticulously. Although Russia  lost its might to fight  America after disbanding of  erstwhile USSR in 1991-92,  it had slowly developed  firepower, ammunition, atomic capability and  diplomacy through BRICS, Russia-China-North Korea-Iran alliances. that it  neutralized  impacts of  western financial sanctions,  UN arm-twisting and  joint might of Ukraine, Europe and America for over three years. Donald Trump  has declared United States  spent over $350 billion in  arms and  funds for purchases from EU allies, under the past Joe Biden led regime, making his country’s  economy poorer. His thrust now is stop unnecessary US spending and recovery of  such loans. He wanted to recover these  huge loans through mining and trading  rare minerals available in Ukrainian soil.

What failed US-Ukraine deal in Oval Office?  Zelenskyy was over anxious to  get instant  peace, while  Donald Trump wanted to  prove true to his  laud announcements ‘to stop   Russia-Ukraine  war in 24 hours of taking office’ .  Wars can’t be stopped  by wishing but thru’  Silent Diplomacy and Give & Take.  The Shouting Match  in front of  shutterbugs  at the  discussion table is a sure prescription for disaster.  President Trump was anxious to meet his  self-declared   targets,  Zelensky, an  actor-turned-General  was keen to  return  back  victorious to  Kyiv,  where his  countrymen would be waiting with huge garlands remnant  of  heroic mythological era  gods  of  Slav and Scythian tales. He must have been bolstered up by  the US Democratic Party hawks and NATO expansionists who had been promising  Ukraine’s   NATO membership since 2016, which  Russian President  threw out of the window , followed by  aggressive march into erstwhile USSR state.

President  Putin would not retract from the occupied regions of DONBAS, Donetsk,  Severodonetsk, Melitopol  and elsewhere in Southern Ukraine which  were lost in 1991  Soviet  disintegration  and  has  reclaimed  valiantly   (he has the moral  and  power button  in his grasp),  nor  US would write off  $350 billion  war liabilities.

Europe has yet to present its  War spending bill and  ask Ukraine president to draw a repayment chart.  The  ongoing  EU group meetings in London  are  at best efforts  to  pecify  Zelenskyy  by  offering to resurrect the broken communication  lines  with  US  President  or  build up a  respectable European Front  for tripartite  talks  to defuse  tense  war scenareo.  Even Turkey is also keen to  provide his  missile  weaponary  to  add oil to fire  at this stage and  collect some  Dollars or rare metals.

World War-III or  Rectangular World Order?  Though  making future predictions is   a risky profession,  NewsOnRadar.com  Editorial Bureau is  taking the plunge into  predictions and Star-gazing;  watching  movement  of powerhouse stars Mars, Jupitor and Saturn !

There are two major possibilities  on the horizon.  Either European leaders   jointly   convince Prez Trump to open negotiations with  Vladimir Putin of Russia to reign in his horses, halt his  Air Squadrons from further attacks on  Ukrainian territories and  put forth his  terms for Peace.  Or  get ready for a Changed  World Order  with Four cornered   Alliances.  1. Europe alongwith Ukraine  finds   matching fire power to defeat Russia and recover its lost lands and prestige; 2.  America  alongwith Russia, Israel  and its East European allies Belarus, Bulgaria, Azerbaizan etc.;  3. China, Iran, North Korea  and other troubleshooters  willing to  be used by either Block ( viz., Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Armenia etc.)  and 4.  India, Brazil, South Africa, West Asia, Japan, South Korea, Africa and Latin American nations  who have preferred  World Peace and Progress earned  through pragmatic policies.  This Group is mostly non-aligned and  has suffered  maximum for others’  hawkish adventures!                                                                                                       (Subhash C Vatsain-Editor)
