Oxygen generation plant with PM Care Fund begins in Aurangabad: Dr Karad
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, May 13 (UNI) Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader Dr Bhagwat Karad said on Thursday that the central government has immediately started work on construction of an additional pressure swing endosorption plant (APSEP) for generation of oxygen here at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) from PM Care Fund.
The Centre has planned to generate oxygen through APSEP in total 400 cities across the country.
In a press release here, he said that construction of oxygen generation plant at GMCH, Aurangabad is in progress and is likely to be completed in next 15 days.
The plant is being constructed by the National Safety Research Institute (NSRI), he said.
Once the plant becomes operational, it will be a great relief to the corona patients, he said.
Dr Karad demanded that in view of large number of corona patients coming to Aurangabad city from other districts and regions of the state for treatment, a second oxygen generation plant of 1,000 LPM should also be started at District General Hospital, Chikalthana.
The BJP MP had earlier asked Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to set up an oxygen plant in Aurangabad city.
