Municipal Employee Found Dead in Forest Area of Chandigarh, Investigation Underway

Chandigarh : A municipal corporation employee was found dead in a forested area of Manimajra in Chandigarh on Saturday, triggering a detailed police investigation. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Krishna Kumar, a resident of the Manimajra area, who worked as a tubewell operator with the civic body.

According to initial reports, the body bore visible injury marks, particularly on the back, making the case suspicious. Upon receiving information, Manimajra Police Station in-charge Inspector Maninder Singh reached the spot along with a police team. A forensic team was also called in to examine the scene and collect evidence.

Police have begun scanning CCTV footage installed at entry points to the forest area to determine whether Krishna Kumar entered the area alone or was accompanied by someone else.

Mobile Phone Under Examination
Investigators are also examining the victim’s mobile phone to trace his last calls and interactions. Family members are being questioned to identify any possible enmity or disputes that could be linked to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out any angle so far.
