Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh visits Airport Road with GMADA officals, promises facelift

Cites CM Bhagwant Mann’s commitments for beautification of the whole of Mohali city

 SAS Nagar: To beautify and facelift Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport Mohali to Kharar Road, MLA Kulwant Singh along with chief Administrator, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority, Mohali, Moonish Kumar took stock of the Airport road on IISER Lights and CP 67 Lights, today.

 The MLA discussed the divider, roadside tiles and footpath, slip road improvement and beautification, greenery with senior officials of GMADA and Municipal Corporation. 

MLA told that as per the commitment of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to make Mohali city number one and a beautiful city and to provide all world-class facilities to the people of the city, various plans an improvements are going on. He said that Mohali city is already known for its International Airport and International Cricket Stadium and needs special attention towards infrastructure upgrades from time to time due to growing urbanisation and the volume of traffic on its main roads.

 “Now, the road from under Kharar Flyover to Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, known as Airport Road, will also need more improvements in the wake of enhanced volume of traffic, for which this joint visit with GMADA officials has been planned today,” said the MLA.  He told that the review was conducted to make it smooth by removing traffic congestion and bottlenecks. He said that he has also suggested flying over to make its better connectivity to the Airport. Every possible effort will be made to make Mohali city beautiful, in which no dearth of funds will be allowed.

GMADA Chief Administrator Moonish Kumar averred,  as per the instructions of the CM Punjab, this visit was aimed to make the movement on this major road in Mohali smooth and safer, under which a complete report will be prepared and further planning will be drawn up to set the things right.                                                                     (with inputs from DPR )
