Lions Clubs of Mohali Supreme and Veyangoda Join Hands for International Twinning Ceremony in Sri Lanka

Colombo/Mohali: The Lions Club of Veyangoda, District 306 D5, Sri Lanka, and  Lions Club of Mohali Supreme, (District 321F), India, came together for a meaningful Service Project and International Club Twinning Ceremony on August 26, strengthening the spirit of international friendship, fellowship and community service. The programme brought together Lions leaders and members from India and Sri Lanka under the Lions International motto “We Serve”.  The twinning initiative aims to promote stronger relations between the two clubs and encourage future cooperation in service activities and international fellowship. The ceremony was attended by District Governor Lion Gayan Lakmal, PMJF, PMAF; PMCC Lion Indhra Kaushal Rajapaksa, PMJF, PMAF; Lion CGL Tilak Raj, PMJF, District Chairperson, Governor’s Press & Media, District 321F; GST Coordinator Lion Duminda; Team Leader, International Relations, Lion Luxman; Region Chairperson Lion Gayan; Zone Chairperson Lion Mewan; and President of Lions Club of Attanagalla, Lion Chamila, among other Lions leaders and members. Speaking on the occasion, the Lions leaders emphasised the importance of international cooperation, fellowship and humanitarian service.

They said such initiatives provide an opportunity for Lions from different countries to work together for the betterment of society while building lasting bonds of friendship. CGL Lion Tilak Raj, PMJF, Charter President of Lions Club of Mohali Supreme  and Deputy District Governor – Press & Media, District 321 F, expressed his gratitude to the Lions Club of Veyangoda and the Sri Lankan Lions leadership for their hospitality and support in making the twinning ceremony a memorable occasion. He said the partnership between the two clubs would open new avenues for joint service projects, cultural exchange and strengthening people-to-people relations between India and Sri Lanka. The International Club Twinning ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment from both clubs to continue working together in the spirit of service, friendship and fellowship. “Together in Service, United in Friendship and Stronger in Lionism” was the message that marked the memorable India–Sri Lanka Lions fellowship initiative.                                                                            (from Sr. Media Correspondent, Tilak Raj).
