Khelo India centers to be set up in all 12 districts of HP: Anurag Thakur
Hamirpur (HP), Dec 8: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports have sanctioned a sum of sixty lakh rupees for setting up of Khelo India centers in all twelve districts of Himachal Pradesh.
Anurag Thakur, Union Youth Affairs and sports Minister said in a message to the HP Rural development minister, Virendra Kanwar that a multipurpose hall at Bangana in Una district of state would also be set up at a cost of 4.5 crores with the objective of promoting sports and strengthening sports infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.
A demand for setting up of this hall was made by Kanwar earlier.
Presently, there is no center of Khelo India in Himachal Pradesh.
Anurag Thakur said: “There is no dearth of talent in Himachal Pradesh and it can become Khelbhumi of the state on analogy of the Veer Bhoomi”.
He said,” It is a matter of pleasure that local MLA’s and other BJP leaders of the state are taking an active part in the promotion of sports-related activities in the state”.
