IMD issues ‘yellow’ signal for Mumbai due to heavy rains.

IMD has issued a ‘yellow’ signal for the city of Mumbai due to the heavy rains that have been falling in several areas of the city. Some portions of Mumbai experienced light showers or occasional heavier periods of rain in the morning, while other parts of the city did not experience any rain at all.

MUMBAI: The weather service has issued a “yellow” notice for the city, anticipating moderate to heavy showers on Monday. In the last 24 hours, torrential rains have drenched portions of Mumbai.

A civic official reported that in the 24 hours ending at 8 am on Monday, the island city, eastern suburbs, and western suburbs, respectively, got an average rainfall of 58.42 mm, 69.15 mm, and 70.41 mm.

While there was no rain in certain districts of Mumbai in the morning, other places saw brief heavy downpours or moderate showers.

For Monday, the Mumbai office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a “yellow” signal, foretelling moderate to heavy rain in the city.

Municipal officials reported that the IMD Mumbai had anticipated moderate to severe rainfall over the next 24 hours in its daily weather forecast published on Monday morning.

According to a local spokesman, there have been no reports of waterlogging anywhere in the city.

According to officials, train services on the Central and Western Railways as well as bus services provided by the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) initiative were all operating normally.
