Goa govt to distribute Ivermectin tablets

Panaji, May 17 (UNI) Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday said that Ivermectin tablets would be distributed across the state in the next 48 hours.
In a tweet, he said the exercise would be taken up in association with Women and Child Development (WCD) and Anganwadi workers.
”We shall be distributing Ivermectin tablets in the state of Goa in the next 48 hours in association with our WCD department & Anganwadi workers. Our Anganwadi workers will be distributing the same in households. Our team is working with new protocols & sole objective of reducing mortalities. We are further improving infrastructure in the state
With expert advice of doctors, we are working towards saving precious lives & will not rest until we bring down mortalities & cases under control,” he said.
He said he held a meeting with all the officials, including WCD Director Deepali Naik, Deputy Director WCD Jyoti Desai, Dean of GMC Dr Bandekar, Director DHS Dr D’sa and Dr Kedar Raikar, with regards to treatment using Ivermectin and distribution of the same.
