Goa Gov administers Oath of Office to Lokayukta Justice (Retd) Ambadas Joshi

Panaji, (UNI) Goa Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari virtually administered the Oath of Office to Lokayukta Justice (Retd) Ambadas Joshi at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula, on Friday. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was present on the occasion.
The post of Lokayukta was lying vacant for over seven months after retirement of Justice (Rtd) P K Mishra on September 17, 2020. The Goa Government had amended Lokayukta Act in January this year. However, opposition had alleged that the Act was amended to make the institution powerless.
Earlier, Justice Joshi was chairman of the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal, Mumbai, from July 2014 to July 2019.
