Ambala :– The Ambala Police has arrested a Khalistani supporter who had threatened to kill Viresh Shandilya, National President of Anti-Terrorist Front India, for his campaign against Khalistan. The accused, Manjot Singh from Bathinda, had allegedly called Shandilya on 28th March, threatening to come to Ambala and eliminate him. Acting on the written complaint filed by Shandilya, the police arrested the accused within 10 days and presented him before the court, which ordered his judicial custody till 11th April.

According to Sub-Inspector Ravi Kumar, Incharge, Post No. 4, the allegations made by Viresh Shandilya were found to be true, and Manjot Singh has been sent to jail. The investigation into other threatening calls received by Shandilya is still ongoing.

The accused claimed to be associated with ‘Buddha Dal 96 Crore’ from Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, and threatened Shandilya for speaking out against Khalistan. The prompt action by the Ambala Police in arresting Manjot Singh is being seen as a major success in cracking down on Khalistani elements.

Viresh Shandilya has been at the forefront of the fight against terrorism, including Pakistani and Khalistani threats, for over 25 years. He has previously filed PILs against terrorist organizations like Babbar Khalsa and individuals such as Jagtar Singh Hawara and Paramjit Singh Bheora—convicted in the assassination of former Punjab CM Beant Singh—which led to significant decisions by the High Court.

The Government of Haryana has also honored Viresh Shandilya for his consistent fight against terrorism. Recently, when Khalistani elements were putting up posters of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale on buses in Himachal Pradesh, Shandilya and his supporters protested by affixing pictures of Bharat Mata on the buses and opposing the Khalistani agenda.

Expressing satisfaction over the police action, Viresh Shandilya said, “Such stern action must be taken against those who spread terror and speak against the Constitution and the national flag of India. My campaign against Khalistan and traitors to the nation will continue with full strength.” The arrest of Manjot Singh, is seen as a strong legal move against anti-national elements.                                           (Roshanlal Sharma’s report)
