Punjab : Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal recently held a crucial meeting with Punjab’s AAP MLAs, sparking fresh political speculation. According to reports, the party is considering increasing the power and autonomy of its Punjab legislators, a move aimed at strengthening the leadership within the state. However, the Congress has claimed that Kejriwal himself is eyeing the Chief Minister’s post in Punjab, leading to intense political debates.

Sources suggest that the meeting focused on empowering AAP MLAs to take more independent decisions in governance and constituency matters. This step is seen as a strategy to counter internal dissatisfaction and opposition pressures. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was also reportedly present in the discussions, but political experts believe that Kejriwal’s direct involvement indicates a significant shift in party dynamics.

The Congress has accused AAP of preparing the ground for Arvind Kejriwal to take over as Punjab’s Chief Minister. Senior Congress leaders claim that Kejriwal is dissatisfied with Bhagwant Mann’s handling of the state and is positioning himself as a replacement. “AAP’s internal rift is now visible. Kejriwal wants to take complete control of Punjab,” said a Congress spokesperson.

Meanwhile, AAP leaders have dismissed these allegations, stating that Kejriwal’s meeting was purely focused on governance and improving coordination between the party leadership and its MLAs. AAP has also accused Congress of spreading false narratives to create political instability in Punjab.

Political analysts suggest that Kejriwal’s increasing intervention in Punjab affairs could have far-reaching consequences. If he does push for greater control, it could lead to tensions within AAP’s Punjab unit. On the other hand, if MLAs are truly given more authority, it may strengthen AAP’s position in the state.

As speculation continues, all eyes are on AAP’s next move. Will Kejriwal continue his indirect control over Punjab, or is a leadership change on the horizon? Only time will tell.
