Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh gets bail

Hyderabad: Nampally Court on Tuesday granted bail to suspended BJP Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh who was earlier arrested by Hyderabad police for his alleged derogatory remarks against a particular community.
Arguments on Raja Singh’s bail petition lasted for about 3 hours in the court, sources said.
Earlier, tension prevailed at the Court here when BJP and MIM activists raised slogans in favour and against Raja Singh when he was being produced before the court.
MIM and BJP activists gathered in large numbers in view of Raja Singh appearing before the Nampally Court. Keeping in view of sensitivity, police had set up barricades far away from the Court.
Amid tight security, Raja Singh was taken to the Nampally Court from Bollaram Police station at 1600 hours. On his arrival at the Court, BJP and MIM activists raised slogans against and in favour of Raja Singh. To control the situation, police resorted to lathi-charge and dispersed them. A scuffle between police and activists led to the tension at court premises.
Earlier in the day, the Hyderabad police arrested Raja Singh for uploading a video on YouTube making derogatory remarks against a particular community and to the recently concluded stand-up comedy show by Munawar Faruqui in Hyderabad.
BJP Central Disciplinary Committee has suspended him with immediate effect.
Issuing a show cause notice to Raja Singh by Central Disciplinary Committee member secretary Om Pathak, he was given 10 days’ time as to why he should not be expelled from the party. (UNI)
