Haryana : In a recent update, the Haryana Education Department revealed that around 30% of private schools in the state have failed to complete the Right to Education (RTE) process. This delay has prompted the department to create a list of non-compliant institutions and take necessary action. The Education Minister assured the public that strict measures would be enforced to ensure that these schools adhere to the RTE guidelines, which aim to make education accessible to all children, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds.

The RTE Act mandates that private schools reserve a certain percentage of seats for children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged communities. This provision ensures that students from all socio-economic backgrounds have an equal opportunity to receive quality education. However, the failure of some private schools to complete the required RTE procedures has raised concerns about the implementation of this crucial policy.

The state government has taken the issue seriously, and the Minister for Education has assured that action will be taken against the schools failing to comply. These institutions will be instructed to complete the process immediately, and any continued non-compliance will result in penalties. The government is committed to ensuring that the RTE Act is fully implemented to promote inclusivity in the education system.

In addition to addressing the RTE issue, the state government also announced that free textbooks for students will be distributed by April 21. This initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on families, particularly those from economically weaker sections, ensuring that every child has access to the necessary educational resources for the academic year.

The Education Minister emphasized that the government is dedicated to improving the education system in Haryana and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to study in a conducive environment. The distribution of free textbooks and the strict enforcement of the RTE guidelines are key steps in this direction.

The Haryana Education Department has also pledged to monitor the progress of the implementation of these measures and will continue to work towards the betterment of the state’s education system.
