Chandigarh Press Club to celebrate Foundation Day on July 15; Five-day Gala programs onway
Starting with a Homepathic advice campon Thursday, a Mango festival on 12th, a Free Health Check-up camp for Media persons today, more attractive get-to-gathers to follow next three days
Chandigarh: The premier media joint of Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana media persons, the Chandigarh Press Club has listed a series of activities for its members and associates for next three days, culminating on Monday, the 44th Foundation Day of the Club . The local correspondent of NewsOnRadar.com met the recently elected President Nalin Acharya on the 3rd day of the anniversary celebrations.
“The five-day celebrations started Thurday with a Homopathic treatment camp for members and their families; on Friday we had a Mango festival, when Members tasted the ripe home-grown juicey variety, (plucked from own trees within the Club premnises). A Free Health Check-up camp for all media persons is organised today at the Club premises, attended by over 150 members, where check-up and medical diagnosis were done by the general practitioners and bone specialists in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parishad. Ayurvedic treatment, including physiotherapy treatment is being done separately” told Mr. Acharya.
On Sunday a get-together for senior members, above 60 has been scheduled to fecilitate their peers, honoring them and sharing their valueable guidence and inputs on Club affairs.
On Monday, the gala Foundation Day, will have a Cultural Evening Show, Tamobola, family-kids games for members and their families. The functions will conclude with a cake-cutting, sharing ceremony led by our former Presidents and Secreatary Generals, followed by Dinner.
Mr. Acharya, a veteran journalist from Him Prabha publications had won the Presidency and Umesh Sharma of News18 getting Secretary’s post, with five-to-four majority in Managing Committee, this April erasing the last year’s defeat of his panel. The Club had earlier organised a 15-days Workshop for members’ Children and has big plans on members’ health, wi-fi facility in the premises, and other community welfare activities.
