US extends Sanctions for Stabilization of Iraq

Washington, May 7 (Sputnik) – President Joe Biden has extended for another year the national emergency sanctions related to the stabilization of Iraq, the White House said in a notice
“Therefore, in accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency with respect to the stabilization of Iraq declared in Executive Order 13303,” the notice said on Thursday.
Executive order 13303 was declared in 2003 during the Bush administration imposing sanctions related to rebuilding funds and oil development.
