UP: Police team attacked, 6 arrested

Sambhal (UP): Three cops were injured when a police team, which had gone to arrest a person accused of attempt to murder, was attacked by his family members in Nakhasa area of Sambhal district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, a senior officer said here.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Chakresh Mishra said that a team had gone to arrest Rizwan, who is accused of attempt to murder, in Deepa Sarai locality. “When the police team reached the spot Rizwan’s family members attempted to drive away the accused and during this, they pelted stone from the roof top. Three police personnel sustained injuries in the attack and have been admitted to the hospital,” he said.
He said that a case has been lodged against 10 named and 15 unidentified people in this regard. “Six persons have been arrested and action under Gangster Act and Goonda Act will be taken against them,” he said. (UNI)
