UP police confiscates plot worth Rs 3 cr registered in the name of Mukhtar’s wife

Lucknow ,Nov 21(UNI) Taking strict action on the family of jailed criminal politician Mukhtar Ansari, Uttar Pradesh police confiscated 194 square meters of prime land located on Vidhan Sabha Marg in the state capital on Sunday.
The prime land is in the name of Afsha Ansari, wife of Mukhtar Ansari, who is also BSP MLA from Mau. The confiscated land is worth Rs 3 crore.
The team of SWAT in-charge of Azamgarh, Prashant Srivastava and other district and police officials were present when the property was attached.

The police and administration have sealed the land and handed over the property to the revenue department.
According to the police, Mukhtar had illegally bought and sold 194 square meters of Nazul’s land located near Akashvani in Hussainganj in the name of his wife.

A petrol pump is operating on this land and during investigation it was found that the land belonged to the government and which was illegally bought by Mukhtar Ansari in the name of his wife Afsha Ansari.

Mukhtar Ansari, a resident of Yusufnagar in Ghazipur, had purchased the plot area of 2078 sq ft on August 22, 2007 in the name of wife Afsha Ansari with the money received from the crime world.
At present the circle rate is around Rs 1.5 crore and the market price is around Rs 3 crore of the plot.

Azamgarh police took action against Mukhtar Ansari in 2020 under the Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act 1986.
This land was leased in 1918 in favor of wife of one M L Grosha. Investigations revealed that on August 25, 2007, Sunil Chak had registered 194 square meters of this Nazul land in the name of Mukhtar Ansari’s wife on which presently a petrol pump is running.

Mukhtar Ansari is the leader of inter state gang 191 of Muhammadabad of Ghazipur district. About 55 cases are registered against him from the year 1978 to 2021. Cases are registered against Mukhtar in several police stations of Ghazipur, Varanasi, Chandauli, Sonbhadra, Agra, Lucknow, Mau and Barabanki as well as New Delhi and, Punjab (Mohali).

These cases are registered under Gangster Act, National Security Act, MCOCA Act, TADA etc.
