Un-organized workers to get E-shram cards in Himachal Pradesh

Hamirpur (HP), Jan 5: The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to register unorganized workers for e-shram cards through Lok Mitra Kendras located in various parts of the state, an official informed on Wednesday.
As per the decision of the state government, no fee will be charged from the workers for their registration through the Lok Mitra Kendras.
However, on registering the workers, the central government will give Rs 30 per registration to Lok Mitra Kendra operators. Free registration of unorganized workers in Lok Mitra centers will make it easier for the workers to register, while the operators of Lok Mitra centers will also benefit.
After registering for the e-shram card, the unorganized workers will be able to take advantage of various welfare schemes of the government. For this, data of unorganized workers in the state is being collected by the Labor and Employment Department.
A spokesman of the Labor and employment department said that so far, about eight lakh 50 thousand 744 unorganized workers have been registered in the state.
On registration, the e-shram card of the unorganized workers will be generated. With the creation of e-shram cards, the unorganized workers will get the benefit of medical facilities along with insurance of two lakh rupees.
For e-shram cards, workers will have to upload their Aadhar Card and bank account details. The age limit for registration has been fixed from 16 to 59 years.
Labor and Employment Commissioner Rohit Jamwal said that with the registration of workers through e-shram cards, they will be able to get the facilities that the central government had decided to give to them so that their lives becomes more secure and comfortable.
