New Delhi, March 13 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat governments on Sunday declared to exempt movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ from paying entertainment tax in the states. Taking to Twitter, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel said, “The state government has decided to give tax exemption to the recently aired film ‘The Kashmir Files’ in the state.” Hours later, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “Movie The Kashmir Files is heart-wrenching narration of the pain, suffering, struggle, and trauma faced by Kashmiri Hindus in the 90s.” He further said, “This needs to be watched by maximum people; hence we have decided to make it a tax-free in the state of Madhya Pradesh.” Earlier, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar had declared to make ‘The Kashmir Files’ the movie tax-free in the state. Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri written and directed movie stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi among others in the key roles. “The Kashmir Files” presents a dark picture of not just the sheer violence that was unleashed in the period of 1990 by Pakistan-backed Islamic terrorists when rivers of blood and screams filled the once serene and beautiful valley of Kashmir and turned it into a hell scape but it also features another kind of war being carried out in Kashmir.
