Telangana HC gives green signal to BJP’s Praja Sangram yatra
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday allowed to continue BJP President Bandi Sanjay’s Praja Sangrama Yatra by ordering interim suspension over the Notification issued by the Wardhannapet Police.
The court said that the police notice to stop the Yatra is only on mere apprehension as that there would be untoward incidents. It is nothing but violations of Article 19 of the Indian Constitution.
Welcoming the high court judgement giving permission for resumption of his “Praja Sangrama Yatra,” Sanjay said the judgement was a slap on the face of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who sought to divert the people’s attention from the Delhi liquor scam involving his family members.
“The people have understood KCR’s evil designs in stalling my padayatra. But we had immense faith in the judiciary and hence, we got justice. I shall resume the padayatra immediately,” Sanjay said, while speaking to reporters at Karimnagar.
Sanjay reiterated his allegation that KCR had conspired to engineer communal riots in Hyderabad only divert the people’s attention from the nation-wide debate on the involvement of his family members in the Delhi liquor scam and shift the blame of triggering communal violence to the BJP.
He reminded that there were no communal riots in any of the BJP-ruled states, even when the Centre took bold decisions like abolition of Article 370, scrapping of Triple Talaq and construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, he said “People should understand why there are communal riots now in the old city.”
He said the invitation extended to stand-up comedian Munwar Farooqui, who had made disparaging comments against Lord Ram and Sita, to Hyderabad was part of the conspiracy hatched by the chief minister in collusion with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
“This was the root cause of the communal troubles in Hyderabad, which KCR wanted to use for political mileage by blaming the BJP,” Sanjay said, and appealed to the people to maintain restraint and not fall prey to the wily tactics of the chief minister.
The BJP chief said he had been clearly explaining to the people during the Praja Sangrama Yatra what the Centre had been doing to the state.
Sanjay accused the TRS government of meeting out a lot of injustice to the state, particularly southern Telangana, in Krishna River water sharing. “Instead of demanding 575 tmc of water in the Krishna River, the TRS government had signed the agreement for only 299 tmc. The chief minister had never raised the issue in any of the apex committee meetings,” he alleged. (UNI)
