Summer shower and hail lash many part of Himachal
Shimla, May 13 (UNI) The summer showers and hail storm lashed many part of Himachal Pradesh in
last 24 hours, plummeting the maximum temperature couple of degree below normal.
Many parts of state received rain and hail on Thursday as Solan recorded 29 mm rain till this evening, followed by Shimla 20 mm and Sundernagar in Mandi 19 mm, Annu in Hamirpur 16 mm, Rohru in Shimla 14.5 mm, Kotkahi 14 mm, Kasouli in Solan 12.5 mm, Manikaran in Kullu 12 mm, This capital town and Tourist resort Kufri 10 mm.
Dharamshala recorded 65mm rain in last 24hrs till this morning, followed by Mandi 31mm.Kumarsen in Shimla 27mm, Narkanda 26 mm, Baldawara in Mandi 25 mm, Palamp;ur 224 mm, Rampur 23 mm, Bhunar in Kullu and Gaggal in Kangra 21 mm each.
Rainfall also occurred in Keylong in Lahaul Spiti, Gohar in Mandi, Kothi in Kullu, Rajgarh in Sirmaur , Wagnto in Kinnuar , Pandoh in Mandi, Karsog and Tourist resort Manali.
Met Office said that Maximum temperature dip by seven to eight degrees in last 24 hrs and 11 to 12 degrees below normal. Maximum temperature of Shimal was 15.7 degrees dip by eight degrees, Sundernagar 18.9 and Bhuntar 15 degrees both down by 15 degrees.
Maximum temperature of Kalpa in Kinnuar was 7.5 degrees( 13 degrees down), Dharmshala 21.2 degrees Una 28.2 degrees, Nahan 25.1 degrees, Keylong 10.3 degrees , Palampur 18.6 degrees, Solan 20.7 degrees Manali 11.4 degrees, Kangra 23.8 degrees, Mandi 18.2 degrees, Bilaspur 24.9 degrees, Hampur 23.8 degrees Chamba 20.9 degrees , Dalhousie 11.9 degrees, Kufri 15.7 degrees and Jubbarhait 19 degrees.
Intermittent rains in the state have continued since May 1 in what is an unusually long wet weather spell in the month of May.
The rains have been brought about by western disturbances (WDs), wind systems originating in the Mediterranean region which are responsible for winter rain in northern India.
The Met Office forecast rain and thunderstorm in in few places of state in next 24 hrs.
