New Delhi, Jan 24 : Congress President Sonia Gandhi, former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi will be the star campaigners for Congress in Uttar Pradesh polls. State party chief Ajay Kumar Lallu, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, party leaders Sachin Pilot, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Raj Babbar are among the list of 30-star campaigners for the party. Former Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar, who joined the Congress in September last year, is also on the list. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has been spearheading Congress’ electoral fight in the state. Samajwadi Party has emerged as the main challenger for the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party, and Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party is also among the main contenders in the fray. The elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27, March 3 and 7.
