Gangtok, Mar 4 (UNI) Four students who happened to be studying in Ukraine have returned back to Sikkim here on Friday. They landed at the Pakyong Greenfield Airport East Sikkim. ‘The four students were pursuing MBBS in different Universities of Ukraine and were rescued and flown to New Delhi. From Delhi, Sikkim House authorities arranged a flight to Sikkim for them. They reached here by a Spice Jet flight”, said Sub Divisional Magistrate Pakyong, Thendup Lepcha. He added, Secretary to CM, Shanker Dev Dhakal welcomed them at the airport with traditional Khadas and was joined by Assistant Protocol Officer, Narayan Pradhan. Advisors to Different Departments of Government of Sikkim, were also present on the occasion to welcome back the students.
At Hindan Airbase, a medical student from war hit Ukraine holding her pet on arrival at Hindan airbase by an Indian Air Force flight in the wee hours on Friday.
