Amid the crisis, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has stepped in to support relief efforts, personally reaching the worst-hit areas of Gurdaspur.

Hooda, who has been associated with Global Sikhs NGO founder Amarpreet Singh and his close friend Maninder Singh for over a decade, is actively working with volunteers on ground zero. The team is distributing food, medicines, and other essentials to families displaced by the disaster.

Taking to Instagram, Randeep reshared a post from Global Sikhs that read:

“PUNJAB FLOOD RELIEF 2025. True to his spirit, @randeephooda has once again stood up for Punjab. He is on ground zero with Global Sikhs, extending his support in our ongoing flood relief efforts. Together, we continue to bring hope and help where it’s needed most.”

Bollywood solidarity

The entertainment industry has come together in support of Punjab. Celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol, Shilpa Shetty, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, and Bhumi Pednekar have expressed solidarity.

Sonu Sood launched a flood helpline.

Diljit Dosanjh adopted ten affected villages.

Ammy Virk pledged to rebuild 200 homes.

Stars like Sonam Bajwa, Gippy Grewal, Satinder Sartaaj, and Karan Aujla also joined the cause.

This collective effort highlights how Bollywood and Punjabi cinema are standing shoulder to shoulder with the people of Punjab.

According to official data:

29 lives lost so far

Over 1,655 villages submerged across 12 districts

Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej rivers breached due to torrential rains in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir

Gurdaspur worst-hit with 324 flooded villages, followed by Amritsar, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, and Sangrur

As rescue and relief operations intensify, the combined support from citizens, government agencies, and the film fraternity is providing much-needed hope to thousands of displaced families.
