New Delhi/Ahmedabad: The meeting of newly elected legislators was held in Ahmedabad this morning. The incumbent CM Bhupinder Patel was elected by the BJP  legislators unanimously, in the supervision of central observers.

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP)deputed a three-member observer team led by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh to elect the leader of the new legislative party after the party won the Gujarat elections by a record margin.
“The party has appointed central observers to elect the leader of the legislative party in Gujarat in the parliamentary party meeting,” BJP General Secretary Arun Singh told reporters here on Friday.
Two other observers are former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda. The sitting Chief Minister Bhupinder Patel was chosen as the leader of the legislative party. He won the Ghatlodia assembly seat by a margin of almost two lakh votes.
Similar indications had emerged from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the BJP headquarters on Thursday.
The formation and swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Gujarat will take place on Monday. (UNI)
