Amritsar : Chief Secretary Punjab, KAP Sinha, has assured residents of flood-hit villages in Ajnala and Ramdaas that the state government will provide full compensation for all losses caused by the recent devastating floods.

Sinha visited the affected areas on Sunday to assess damage and monitor relief operations, distributing essential materials and urging residents to move to safer locations. The Ravi River, flowing through Ajnala and Ramdaas before entering Pakistan, has risen significantly, inundating villages and farmlands.

“The zunjab Government stands with the people in this hour of crisis and will support them in every difficulty,” said Sinha. He confirmed that once the situation stabilizes, a special Girdawari (crop and damage assessment) will be conducted, ensuring compensation for all kinds of losses.

During the visit, Sinha held meetings with district administration and army officials, commending the efforts of the Army, NDRF, police, and civil administration in ongoing rescue operations. Teams from various departments, including Revenue, Health, Animal Husbandry, Water Resources, and Rural Development, are working round-the-clock to ensure that no person faces shortages of food, medicine, or shelter.

Officials emphasized the importance of security arrangements and coordinated relief efforts to provide comprehensive assistance to the affected populace.
