Lawrence Gang Shooter Claims It’s a Fake Operation, Cop Injured in Crossfire…

Punjab : In a dramatic turn of events in Punjab, two accused involved in the brutal murder of a prominent textile businessman were killed in an early morning police encounter. The operation, which took place on the outskirts of Ludhiana, also left a head constable injured after being shot in the leg during the exchange of fire. However, controversy erupted soon after when a social media handle allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed the encounter was fake and scripted.

The two accused, believed to be contract killers hired by a notorious gang, were on the run since the high-profile murder that shook the industrial circles of Punjab last month. Police traced their hideout based on technical surveillance and inputs from informants. As per official statements, when the police team attempted to arrest them, the suspects opened fire, forcing the team to retaliate.

The encounter has sparked mixed reactions, with many hailing the police for swift justice, while others question the timing and authenticity of the operation. The injured constable is currently recovering in a city hospital and is said to be out of danger.

The post from a Lawrence gang-affiliated handle on social media added a twist, claiming that the two accused were already in custody and were eliminated in a staged encounter. The post further alleged that the police wanted to wrap up the case quickly due to political pressure and media scrutiny.

Senior police officials, however, dismissed these allegations as baseless. They stated that the accused were armed and posed an imminent threat, and the encounter was a result of a genuine attempt to apprehend them alive. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem, and the matter is now under magisterial inquiry as per protocol.

This incident has once again highlighted the deep-rooted nexus between organized gangs and contract killings in Punjab. It has also raised questions about transparency in encounter operations and the increasing role of social media in influencing public opinion.

As investigations continue and political voices begin to weigh in, the case is bound to stir debate on law, justice, and accountability in high-stakes criminal cases.
