According to sources, certain terror organizations have issued warnings through email about possible attacks. In response, the Ludhiana police have intensified security across the city over the last two days.
Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma stated that the heightened security is part of routine checks, but the extensive measures across Ludhiana indicate that the authorities are taking no chances in the face of a potential terror threat in Punjab.
Special checkpoints have been set up in multiple areas of the city, and patrolling has been increased to ensure public safety. Additional police forces have been deployed at sensitive locations, including:
