Presidents’ Bodyguards veteran horse Virat retires after Republic Day
Virat had attended several R'Day ceremonies with 3 Presidents of India
NEW DELHI, JAN 26 (UNI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi pampering President Bodyguards’
horse Virat who is retiring from his services, at an age of 21 years. Today was its last appearance during the 73rd Republic Day Parade at Rajpath in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The ‘veteran horse Virat’ had served in Presidents’ bodyguards unit for the longest period and attended several Republic Day ceremonies with three Presidents late Pranab Mukherjee, late APJ Abdul Kalam and the incumbent President Ram Nath Kovind.
Virat was expert in doing various maneuvers and commands from his riders.
The President Kovind and PM Modi bid him adieu at India Gate patting him in full public view.
