Islamabad : In a recent statement, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude to the United States, Saudi Arabia, and China for their support amid escalating tensions with India. Speaking to the media, Shehbaz pointed out that Pakistan had been forced to defend itself after India launched an attack. He credited the support from these key nations for Pakistan’s efforts to manage the ongoing crisis and ensure national security. The Prime Minister highlighted the strategic importance of the relationship between Pakistan and these countries, emphasizing that their diplomatic and political backing had been vital during such critical times.

Shehbaz specifically thanked  US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping for their personal roles in maintaining communication channels open during the recent escalation. He noted that both leaders had reassured Pakistan of their support in the face of Indian aggression. The Prime Minister also acknowledged the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly the Kingdom’s consistent political and economic support during periods of tension in the region.

Pakistan has been under significant stress following the military confrontations with India, which have raised concerns about the stability of the region. Shehbaz’s statement came as part of a broader diplomatic effort to seek international support and assert that Pakistan was acting in self-defense. He claimed that the international community must understand Pakistan’s position and not overlook India’s provocative actions. According to Shehbaz, India’s military aggression had left Pakistan with no other option but to take countermeasures to protect its sovereignty.

The Prime Minister’s remarks on the international stage have been seen as an attempt to strengthen diplomatic ties with the US, Saudi Arabia, and China, and to gain further political leverage in ongoing global discussions about the conflict. The statement also underscored the complex geopolitical dynamics in South Asia and the role of external powers in mediating or exacerbating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

As tensions remain high, Pakistan continues to call for peaceful dialogue and resolution of disputes with India, while strengthening its defense capabilities. The international community’s reaction will be pivotal in determining the next steps for both nations in the coming weeks.
