Old bridge across Gouthami-Godavari at Jonnada ready to reopen

Kakinada: The old road bridge across Gouthami- Godavari connecting Ravulapalem- Jonnada which has been closed for the past ten months was being reopened for traffic from tomorrow on completion of the required repairs, official sources said.
The national highway traffic was diverted to the new bridge all these months.
The bridge was fixed with new railings and strengthened with concrete wherever necessary. The bridge was constructed during 1967 with the efforts of the then Minister for revenue Kala Venkatrao.
The national highway authorities have completed the work strictly adhering to schedule and observing standards, the sources added.
