Mahant Narendra Giri given Bhu Samadhi, 13 Mahants pay homage

Prayagraj, Sep 22 (UNI) Akhara Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri, amid chanting of hymns and performing religious rituals, was given bhu samadhi Wednesday inside his Shrimath Baghambri Gaddi complex. The Bhu Samadhi of the Mahant was given beside his Guru’s samadhi in the Math complex at around 1445 hrs (IST).
Mahants of all the 13 Akharas, senior sadhus and others were present during the Samadhi rituals.
During the rituals , the saints raised slogans in support of the departed Mahant.
All the sadhus worshipped the mortal remains of the Mahant at the Samadhi sthal before flowers, earth and other things were filled to cover the Samadhi place.
Several of the Mahant’s disciples were seen weeping during the Samadhi process.
Before the Samadhi ,a funeral yatra was also be taken out to give the last farewell.
After bathing the mortal remains of the body at Triveni Sangam, it was brought to the Late hue Hanuman temple. There the devotees bid farewell to the Mahant.
Several UP ministers including Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, office bearers of parties and saints and Mahatmas will also be present on the occasion of the samadhi and the funeral procession.
All the chiefs of 13 Akharas along with saints and sadhus of different maths have reached Prayagraj to attend the Samadhi rituals.
After the post-mortem, the body was brought to Shrimath Baghambari Gaddi where the body of Mahant Narendra Giri were decorated with flowers.
Then the last journey was taken out by placing the body in a vehicle decorated with flowers. The body was taken to Sangam via Daraganj. After taking the Sangam bath, the body was taken to the Bade Hanumanji temple. From there again the mortal remains were brought to Shrimath Baghambri Gaddi for bhu Samadhi.
According to the last wish of Mahant Narendra Giri, his samadhi was given inside the math near his Guru’s samadhi.
Notably, the body of Mahant Narendra Giri, President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, was found hanging in the Shrimath Baghambari Gaddi in Allapur, Prayagraj on Monday evening.
The administration has made adequate security arrangements for the entire programmee. Police have barricaded all the roads.
Meanwhile, local court here has sent Acharya Anand Giri and Adaya Mishra to 14-day judicial custody on Wednesday in connection with the death of Akhara Parishad president Narendra Giri.
Chief Judicial Magistrate(CJM) Harendra Tiwari sent both the accused to judicial custody.
Reports also said that during the court appearance, there was a scuffle between Anand Giri and Aadya Tiwari. Supporters of both also raised slogans against each other.
On the other hand, the ashram of Anand Giri, accused in the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, has been sealed in Haridwar.
Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority took action on the ashram located in Shyampur, Haridwar. The building was also sealed in May due to illegal construction.
Meanwhile, the Akhara Parishad refused to accept Balvir Giri as the president of the Baghambari Math. Akhara Parishad General Secretary Hari Giri said: “When the suicide note itself is fake, there is no question of considering Balvir Giri as his successor.”
The meeting of Panch Parmeshwar was also postponed.
The Akhara Parishad is also investigating the death of Mahant Narendra Giri.
Hari Giri said,” After 16 days, Solsi Bhandare will be organized. Only after that we will talk about the investigation and successor.”
