Mumbai: The decision to accept the report of the State Pay Reform Committee (Bakshi Committee) Volume-2 was taken in the Cabinet meeting held Tuesday.
This will eliminate the pay errors of many cadres and benefit the officers and employees. This will result in a financial burden of Rs 240 crore.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presided over the meeting. As per the recommendations of the Central Seventh Pay Commission, there was a demand from the officers and employees regarding the revision of the salary structure of the state government and other employees. Accordingly, on 17 January 2017, retired Additional Chief Secretary K.P. Bakshi, a State Pay Revision Committee was appointed under the chairmanship of Bakshi. This committee considered 3739 demands received from officers and employees. Also discussed in detail with various departments on January, February 2019. This committee submitted volume 1 of its report to the government on 5th December 2018 and it was implemented. Volume II of the Bakshi Committee’s original report was submitted on February 8, 2021, which was accepted by the state government today.
The committee has taken into consideration the flaws in the 6th Pay Commission as well as the demands for hike in the revised pay structure of the 7th Pay Commission.
A decision was taken in today’s cabinet meeting to provide a fine instead of imprisonment for bringing cattle on the road. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presided over the meeting.
This decision has been taken in view of acquittal in the provisions of punishment contained in the laws and rules of the state. Accordingly, section 163 (1) of the Maharashtra Gram Panchayat Act, 1959 will be amended to minimize the provisions of punishment for bringing cattle on roads.
A commercial agreement with Hindustan Unilever Company’s Modern Food Enterprises for bakery business on government land was approved in the Cabinet meeting held Tuesday.
The agreement was approved for carrying out bakery business on the land granted to them by occupancy rights and transferred to Hindustan Unilever Company without Government approval. Modern Bakery Company has been transferred to Hindustan Unilever Company with the approval of Delhi High Court. Accordingly, there is a writ petition in Bombay High Court for recovery of unearned income. According to the order of the High Court, the company has given a bank guarantee. Accordingly, the agreement was approved after paying an upfront amount of Rs.5 crores, it said.
The Cabinet meeting also approved a tripartite agreement with Tarpan Foundation to reach the benefits of Sanjay Gandhi Destitute Grant Scheme to orphans. There will be no financial burden on the government for this.
In the state, the Sanjay Gandhi Destitute Grant Scheme provides assistance to disabled, blind, deaf, deaf, mentally retarded women and men suffering from tuberculosis, paralysis, cerebral palsy, cancer, AIDS, sickle cell and those who cannot lead their own life due to terminal illness, as well as destitute men, women, third parties, non-maintenance.
A subsidy of Rs 1000 per month is given to eligible women, suicide farmers family, wife of imprisoned family, oppressed women. While the Shravanbal Seva State Pension Scheme also provides a subsidy of Rs.1000 per month to the eligible beneficiaries.
But most of the orphan boys and girls are not aware of this scheme so they are deprived of the scheme. Therefore, it was approved today to enter into a tripartite agreement with the organization Tarpan Foundation to deliver the benefits of such schemes to orphans. There will be a tripartite agreement between the Department of Revenue, Department of Social Justice and Tarpan Foundation. Accordingly, according to the Service Guarantee Act, it has also been ordered to file the income of orphans within 15 days. Tarpan Foundation has to submit the survey to be conducted in the next two years to the Department of Revenue and Social Justice. An agreement will be signed with this organization for five years. After that it will be reviewed and renewed for the next five years. (UNI)
