Lawyers of Lalu to approach HC for bail this week

Ranchi, Feb 21 (UNI) Lawyers of Lalu Yadav will approach the Jharkhand High Court and file a bail petition this week itself. Lalu’s lawyer Prabhat Kumar talking to the media outside the E-court room on Monday, said that the court has awarded Lalu Yadav five years of sentencing and imposed a fine of Rs 60 lakh. He said that he did not feel that the court had considered the plea on health grounds of giving less sentencing to Lalu Yadav. He said that once the judgement copy is received the legal team will go over the same and will try to file the bail petition in the High Court this week itself. As Lalu Yadav has already served more than three years in jail, Prabhat Kumar plans to petition the High Court on the basis of ‘half sentencing’.
