Kerala reports 2,407 new Covid-19 cases, 11 deaths

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 25: Kerala has recorded 2,407 fresh Covid-19 cases and 11 deaths on Saturday showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases in the State.
About 3,377 people have recovered from the disease today, a press release from the health department said this evening.
“Meanwhile, 11 recent deaths were confirmed due to Covid today. About 104 deaths were also added to the list based on appeals seeking its inclusion in the list taking the death toll in the State to 46,318,” the release added.
About 44,754 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Currently 1,24,904 people are under observation in the State — 1,21,046 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 3,858 in hospitals.
Today, 163 people infected with virus were admitted in hospitals in the State. Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 at six wards where strict restriction is being imposed.
