Judge who ordered videography of Gyanvapi Mosque, receives threat letter
Lucknow: Civil Judge (Senior Division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar, who passed the order to conduct a videography survey of Gyanvapi Masjid complex in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday informed the state government that he had received a threatening letter.
Diwakar wrote a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, stating that he had received a threatening letter today from an organization called the Islamic Aagaz Movement.
The Civil Judge has brought this to the notice of the government and requested to take appropriate action on it.
Diwakar had ordered to conduct a videography survey of the Mosque premises last month during the hearing of a plea allowing regular worship of Hindu deities in the Mosque premises, which found a Shivling-like figure near the Mosque’s vazukhana, besides Hindu religious symbols. All the evidence was said to be found.
According to the Judge, one Kashif Ahmed Siddiqui, describing himself as the president of the said organization, sent him a hand written letter on the letter tree of the organization. (UNI)
