Srinagar, Dec. 13: Three policemen were killed and 14 others injured, some of them critically, in a militant attack on a police bus in a highly fortified neighbourhood of Srinagar. Police sources said the attack was carried out by an offshoot of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought details on the attack. In a Twitter post, the Prime Minister’s Office said: “He has also expressed condolences to the families of those security personnel who have been martyred in the attack.
Former Chief Minister of the state OImar Abdullah attacked centre’s NDA government: “I had worked with the Prime Minister (late Atal Behari Vajpayee) who had said that the Kashmir issue would be settled on the basis of humanity, democracy and Kashmiriyat, ” And added Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road was opened for trade and the Prime Minister extended hand of friendship from the soil of Kashmir ”.
He said “the present BJP government has ruined humanity and destroyed democracy in Kashmir”.
He said unity and consensus among the political parties is essential and added the National Conference has made tremendous sacrifices for the Gupkar Alliance
