Jalandhar Teen Shot Near Neck While Returning From Gym, Condition Critical
An 18-year-old youth was seriously injured after unidentified bike-borne assailants opened fire at him late Tuesday night in the Suchi Pind area of Jalandhar, creating panic in the locality.
The injured youth has been identified as Anmol. According to police, he was returning home in his Swift car after a workout session at a gym located on Ladowali Road near Guru Nanak Dev University. As he reached near Suchi Pind, two youths on a motorcycle allegedly stopped in front of his car and suddenly started firing at him.
During the attack, one bullet hit Anmol near his neck, while another bullet struck his car. After carrying out the attack, the accused fled the spot. Severely injured and bleeding, Anmol collapsed on the road. His friends reached the scene within minutes and rushed him to a hospital, where doctors stated that his condition remains critical.
After receiving information about the incident, police teams reached the spot and launched an investigation. Two empty bullet shells were recovered from the scene, and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined.
DCP Investigation Manpreet Singh Dhillon said that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused at the earliest.
