India crosses 1 crore single-day vaccination for fifth time

New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) India crossed the milestone of over 1 crore vaccination on Monday for the fifth time since the nationwide vaccination drive began on January 16 against COVID, data from the CoWIN portal showed.
On September 17, India had administered over 2.5 crore jabs in a single day, making a world record for the highest single-day vaccination achieved globally so far.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had ensured to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71’st birthday on September 17 historic by administering a record Covid-19 vaccine doses.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya “congratulated the country on achieving the rare feat again.
“Congratulations to the nation, as we administer another 1 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses. Under PM Narendra Modi ji, India delivers a punch to Corona – Record of 1+ crore vaccines achieved for the 5th time,” he posted on Twitter.
The country has achieved the magic figure of over 1 crore vaccination in a single-day earlier on September 6, August 31 and August 27 as well.
The country had administered 1.13 crore vaccines doses on September 6 and 1.03 crore on August 27.
India then went ahead and administering 1.28 crore on August 31.
According to Union Health Ministry’s data shared on Monday evening, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 86 Crore (86,93,79,970).
